Forensic Imaging: Tools For Tracking Down Missing Kids

Since 1984, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has helped law enforcement recover more than 130,000 missing children. In cases where a child has been missing for several years, NCMEC utilizes the latest in age-progression technology to help families and law enforcement in tracking down and identifying a missing kid. This week at the AMW Safety Center, we’re taking you to the Forensic Imaging Unit at NCMEC to give you an inside look at how these high-tech tools are used to aid authorities in reuniting families.

We’ve got plenty more tips for you right here at the AMW Safety Center from NCMEC to help keep your kids safe, and what you should do in case your child does go missing.

Age progressions should be done on every missing child each year. Maybe more kids would be found. Kids change every year.

My daughter was 15 when she came up missing this was in 1994 she was with a older man for 3and a half years we looked for her i wish this on no parent.not knowing where your child is ,is your worst nightmare. nothing was ever done to the man she left withand had a child with. i will never regret my grandson. but i think the laws need to be harder for people who take their childern they are young not old enough really to know the danger.im thankful to have my daughter and grandson and pray for every parent that goes through this nightmare.when can our children be safe from all kinds of preditors? thank God for shows like Americas most wanted and for you people doing wrong watch out we are looking for you.

Thank God for people like John Walsh . Who knows how many people would still be on the lost list if it were’t for him getting DNA and Forensic knowledge in the process. May God continue to Bless him and his family. May the Lord help guide and direct him in every case.
