John Walsh: Congress Must Act - Again - To Keep Our Kids Safe

I hope Congress will take all necessary steps to ensure the safety of our children & grandchildren from all predators that seek to harm them on the internet.
The matter is as urgent as the financial problem that is facing our Nation— donot let this die, ACT NOW!!!!

Let us hope and pray Congress does this - I am very
disappointed in their lack of action. I have written but
I have the feeling - they do not know how to get things
done.

I have always been a fighter for the protectionof children , having come from a similar situation . I volunteer (online) for the NCMEC as well as your group AMW among others. I have already signed the petition to endorse this bill and I hope it goes through . Keep up the good work John , I believe in you and your fight for the children !

It seems there is never enough money to support all the needed funding to protect our children. There is always a battle over the control of our taxes with each bill screaming for support. But, there are many reasons to push for these bills. The primary “reasons” are those children too young and too vulnerable to fight these predators. Every opportunity to stop or identify these criminals needs to be taken.

IT IS BEYOND TIME TO DO THE RIGHT THING FOR OUR CHILDREN.

Our future is our kids. They definitely need to experience a safe childhood and we as parents need to know that our government feels the same way. Many parents are afraid to let their children play outside, and now go on the internet. It is time to crack down on the low lifes that exploit our nation’s future minds.

Being the father of 3 girls and 1 boy I hope that these laws are expedited. No need to decide when to allow this law to be in effect. The time is NOW! The more we do to protect our children the safer we feel about there well being.

I hope that congress sees the importance of insuring the safety of our children. I know that there needs to be more resources and support when it comes to a missing child. I have reported a man down the street from me as being very suspicious and no one can do anything,not check things out or nothing. No reports can be made because he hasn’t done anything. And I understand that or we would have reports everywhere on nothing. This is a gut feeling that will not go away. I sit up late at night and watch them bring in a baby, not ever during the day, only late at night. These people are very to theirselves,and it wouldn’t be unusual except we live on cudlesac and everyone talk to everyone. We have all checked eachother out,and know eachs names. As far as this particular piece of legislation goes, I know nothing about it. Therefore I will not urge anyone to sign it into law util I can see it for myself and agree with what it will and especially CAN do.
I agree that more needs to be done about child predators. Stiffers penalties are a must. However, the right to being innocent until PROVEN GUILTY has been seriously damaged by disreputable characters who file false reports and damage the lives of innocent people they desire to hurt. It is far easier to shake off a false charge of murder than that of child molester or abuser. There must be allowance for privacy and the benefit of the doubt to be given or our laws will become as dispicable as those they were intended to stop. Some will say this doesn’t matter as long as we get the molesters. But wait until it happens to them and their good name is soiled. By then, it will be too late to matter when your life has been destroyed. My prayers are with our law makers that they will find a way to preserve the integrity of man while dealing with the filth of child abusers and molesters.

I hope that the new laws come into the legal system for the USA & Canada where I,am from my oldest girl was hurt by a family member and here in Canada he received 90 days in jail. Hi, Iam the mother of 3 girls, we have been the victims of a child molester. But, know we are survivors. The man that messed with my girls ,well he served 5 years, got out and did not register as an offender, and was put back in jail for not registeringas an offender. As far as i know he did not serve as much time as he should have. I just hope the laws change for sex offenders, and they get what they deserve, castration.!!!

hey john walsh i have this friend and one of the grown man of the family he is a friend of the family i think. is touching her in feeling in one night he stuck is hand in her while she was sleeping so she jumped up and ran in hide in the bathroom and was constantly crying because she was scared. she to her mom but her mom won’t believe her and i am scared for her. what should i do

John I was so happy hear that you & your family finally have some type of closure you do so much for us. In 2006 my daughter was grabbed right infront of me in an attempted abduction. I pushed and pushed but he only got senteced 1 year.

we need tougher laws againt sex offenders and anyone who commits a crime againt a child, we need to lock these people up for life, the laws today are not keeping our children safe, you hear about missing children everyday , this needs to stop , how can we get washingtons attention to make tougher laws

Every time, every day, that we think we are helping to keep our children safe and out of harms way, push harder! That little extra effort can and will go further not only for our children but our neighbors and friends as well. Mr. Walsh and amw keep up the good work it is truly appreciated!

I’m all for this. it scares me to death knowing that our kids are targets. I’m got three kids and my oldest one just turn 12 and i know that one day i will have to let her go and to be honest that scares me. My youngest one is five and that even scares me more. i can remember myself riding my bike to my dad’s store at dusk and back home with no problems and not having to worry about someone taking me; now you can not do that. my kids do not go outside unless i’m outside with them or go bike riding unless i’m with them and it is sad that i can not give my kids that freedom that i had because of people that are sick in the head and our law does not do anything to these people, but slap them on the hand and tell them “no,no.” they all should be locked up for a very long time.

If John Walsh was so concerned about protecting children from child predators, why hasn’t he been supporting Law Enforcement Agencies that endorse the legally required solution to stop the advertising of child pornography on the Internet to protect innocent internet users from charges of possession? and for the welfare of children! Three years requests were sent for him to support Law Enforcement Agencies and assist Senator Nancy Schaefer, but John Walsh isn’t helping Law Enforcement and has totally ignored Senator Nancy Schaefer. Why?

i am a victim of att rape and the adam walsh bill needs to be passed not just for the children, for all of us that have been a victim of a sexual crime.sexual offenders need to be reclassified. the man that made me a victim now under megans law only has to register for 10 yrs & once a year w/ police, under adams law he would have to register every 90 days for the rest of his life. what would you want if you were me?

I think the problem is too many sex predators are being released without any treatment or restrictions
for example where I live there are 18 predators within 3 miles of my address that are listed as transient, if the state or county can’t keep track of them, keep them in jail, kids are disappearing and when police do checks there are a multitude of predators, when Haleigh Cummings disappeared there were 44 sex offenders in her neighborhood alone , that is appalling

Newspapers can help a great deal in searching for missing children, they should devote a page a week to 100 pictures of missing children, keeping the Amber Alerts going until the child is found, this will increase the odds of someone spotting a missing child, plus for runaways who are convinced parents don’t care , they will see the posters as proof that parents do care and they may call home, or for noncustodial parents who take their kids , it will help find them too

My children and I learned information about child safety on one of the AMW shows. In addition to being well informed about strangers approaching children, we actually practiced the safety steps daily.

my son was murdered this year byhis own cousin, and i am afraid he is going to get by with it. the justice system here is not legal , they crooked. i am a fixed income so i can not do alot of research because of money or the know how. please help me.

i hope i am not out of line but so many girls being kidnaped boys for this sex thing can we come up with a good solution like maybe implants some kind of small divise Iget so sad when i here a little girl gets kidnap if i had money i would donate a lot to this cause john you have done such agreat job you make me happy when u catch a real bad guy thanks for your time
